Synced has a few great things going for it. First you get 500 megabytes of space, which is a good amount of space. You also get 50 gigs of bandwidth each month, again that is not bad. According to Synced’s information page, this can even be upgraded if needed, they did not say if this comes with an additional charge but I expect that it would. The 10 MySQL databases, email, and FTP accounts that synced provide will cover most websites needs. You will also get Cpanel and Fantastico to help manage your site, and both are usually what you get with a paid hosting service. On of the features that Synced offers that even some paid hosting companies do not offer yet is the ability to use PHP 5.X. The thing that I found strange about Synced is that they only will allow you to use English content on all pages hosted by them. Even on their home page they have “We require English content.”. They also include an banner ad on your page, but you get to choose that banner according to their information page. Another thing that seems strange is that in order to sign up for free hosting you must send an email to Synced. This is the first free host that I have seen that does this.
In addition to this free plan, it seems that Synced has a special plan that will allow free hosting with 2GB of space, 200GB of bandwidth, unlimited MySQL databases, unlimited FTP accounts, and 200 POP3 email accounts if your site has over 3,000+ unique daily visitors. This plan also requires that Synced ads be on each page.

Qupis Hosting offers a lot of features that most other free sites offer. The unique way that Qupis offers their hosting is by using a text ad at the bottom of your page. This beats having a large banner ad at the very top of the page. Most sites now have similar text based ads, even sites like Google. You also get 10 MySQL databases, and FrontPage extensions are supported. With ten email accounts, and FTP accounts should be enough to cover most websites. Qupis also provides a few extra tools, like hot link protection, that most free web host do not offer. They also guarantee that the five gigs of bandwidth will be allotted to you each month. The only draw back that I see to Qupis is that you only get 150MB of drive space.

Agility Hoster does not provide a lot of features with their free hosting. Some of the things that you would think they would support like spam and virus protection they do not provide for on their free hosting plans. With only one MySQL database, there is very little that you can do, you maybe able to run a blog, but that is about it. You could not run a site with both a blog and forum, unless you have software that can do both but only use one database. The database quota is very small also at only 10 megs. The five gigs of transfer a month is something that other hosting sites do not offer, but there are other sites that offer more. The also have a demo of the control panel interface. This is nice that you get to try the software before actually using the software. If you are just wanting a site to practice creating and developing sites on, Agility Hoster would be a good spot to start, other then that, I would suggest passing up their free hosting plan.

WebSpace Networks free hosting plan looks really nice. There may be a need for additional space, since they only offer 200 megabytes. The two gigs of transfer is a real nice bonus. Webspace allows you to either use your own domain or a subdomain provided by them. You also get two MySQL databases, which may cause some issues for some websites. One other bonus is that they provide a forum so that you can talk with other web site designers and admins.
