Vlexo free hosting consist of three different plans, named Alpha, Platinum, and Titanium, with Titanium being the plan with the most features. Each plan comes with Cpanel 11, Fantastico, PHP 5, Perl/CGI, Ruby on Rails, and traffic stats. It is interesting that they provide Ruby on Rails, and is one of the few free hosting sites that I have seen that supports this language.
The Alpha package gives you 250MB of storage and 6GB of transfer. These features are average for free hosting, and is more then enough for the average blog, or personal site. You also get one free MySQL database with this plan. The Alpha package also give more then enough email accounts, subdomains, parked domains, and ftp accounts at a whopping 20 accounts. Velox calls these features.
With the Platinum package you get 524MB of data storage, and 10GB of data transfer. You also get three MySQL databases. You also get double the amount of “features”. You also have to put ads on your site. These are Google Adsense ads.
The last package is the Titanium. This is an upgraded Platinum package. You will get a total of 60 “features”. You also get five MySQL databases. The disk space increases to 1024MB (1GB) and 15GB of transfer. Like the Platinum package you have to add ads to your site. The ads for the Titanium are also powered by Google Adsense but contain images in the ads, or you can use the larger text ads by Adsense.
All three packages seem very reasonable, and if you don’t mind having a few Google ads on your site, you should check out the Titanium packaging. If you think that the Google ads are to much, remember that most websites are now using this type of ad support, because it does not overwhelm the visitor with flashing text, or sound, and can be designed into the site very easily with no problems.
